Isn’t it weird how the only two words artists seem to use when announcing new music are “drop” and “release”? One sounds like you just spilled your soda cup on the ground. The other sounds like you’re setting a dozen white doves free on a mountaintop. We’re probably closer to the soda-cup side of the spectrum but there’s no shame in that. Life is messy!
Anyway: we’re spilling a new song today. It’s part of a YACHT initiative we call “no label, no publicist, let’s just make songs we really love and put them out there when we’re done with them without overthinking it because life is short!”
It’s called “Finger in Your Eye.” That’s the single artwork up there in the header. Jona had the genius idea of hiring a patent illustrator to very literally illustrate the title. Why is her hand so giant? Why does her hair look like a helmet? What do the arrows mean? Why aren’t her eyes aligned? Like we said: don’t overthink it!

If you like this music, please tell us, or tell someone else. We’ve made a deliberate choice to be 100% independent in what is likely the worst time for independent art and music in human history, and although we’re lucky enough to remain sustainable as an enterprise it can feel lonely out there. We’re grateful for your ears and we hope they can hear how much fun we’re having dinking around in our studio. As the song says, listening is free (but *ahem* today is Bandcamp Friday).
Love,
Claire, Jona, & Rob
