New Release Store Opening
Come celebrate a New Release with us IRL Friday in Los Angeles
It’s dusk in America and retail is dead. Everywhere you look, doors are closing for good. In our neighborhood, the big-box stores are going out of business and even the fixtures are on sale. Meanwhile, we’re going into business?!
Announcing The New Release Store—an IRL store, late-stage retail installation, and our album release party headquarters. Only in Los Angeles, and you’re invited.
“So wait, what is this?” We’re taking over a gallery and installing an ode to retail display, sign painting, and our lifelong interest in confusing our customers. It’s an art opening, an album release party, and a weird happening all in one!
The New Release Store opens this Friday, August 23rd at 7pm. Refreshments will be offered, and admission is free. New Release will be available to buy on vinyl and cassette. New t-shirts and stickers will also be available, as well as an exclusive whole-bean New Release coffee blend hand-roasted by our friends at Carnelian Coffee in Portland. We will be DJing songs that inspired the album (aka old releases), fielding your questions, and just straight-up hanging out. Award-winning filmmaker Kailee McGee will be big-timing your night with a special red-carpet coverage experience.
