Bending the Airwaves
Some quick Blippo+ updates and a Bandcamp Sale!
Hello fellow travelers,
It’s been a whirlwind few months for Blippo+, the video game / live-action intergalactic cable TV simulator we’ve spent the last 5 years pouring our hearts into. A few months ago the game leapt from the 1-bit magic of the Playdate to technicolor transmissions on Steam and Nintendo Switch, and the reception from both fans and the games press has been delightfully surreal.
Blippo+ is being recognized alongside the big dogs! We took home the Herman Melville Award for Best Writing at the 2026 New York Game Awards, beating out some huge titles. We’re touched that the New York Games Critics Circle found our bonanza of alien programming worthy of recognition. It’s really a testament to the weird, wonderful world built by our excellent team and incredible cast.
Blippo+ is up for four more trophies at 28th Annual Independent Games Festival, including what our publisher, Panic, calls the “legendary” Seumas McNally Grand Prize. We’re also nominated for Excellence in Visual Arts, Excellence in Audio, and The Nuovo Award (for games that “make us think differently about what games can be”). We’ll be at GDC in San Francisco, see you there? Blippo+ was a real sleeper on all the “Best Games of 2025” lists, earning some lovely appreciations from Polygon, Kotaku, Nintendo Life, The Guardian, and even Forbes.
Damn, this game must be fun! If you haven’t taken a crack at it yet—and especially if you think you’re “not a gamer”—why don’t you give it a go? All you have to lose is your sanity. And for our people who are Macintosh computer users: Blippo+ is now available for Mac! You can now experience the radical, staticky magic of Planet Blip in all its high-fidelity, full-color glory on macOS via the Mac App Store and Steam.
Finally, we donated some Blippo+ download codes to the ICE Out charity stream, which has raised over $279K (!!!) so far to support Minnesotans who are sheltering in place. You can also donate directly.
To celebrate Bandcamp Friday, which is today, we’re offering a real hot discount on Blippo+’s award-nominated Original Soundtrack, composed by Rob and Jona. There’s something on this thing for everyone. Since the game is a love letter to the history of television, the soundtrack has got it all—broadcast news stings, jingles, sitcom themes, library-inspired music and bizarro in-world bops from Planet Blip. For today only, grab the Blippo+ Original Soundtrack for only $5 (FIVE Earth smackers). Pssst :it’s also on Spotify, Apple Music, and everywhere else you stream!
The rest of our catalog remains reasonably priced, fun to look at, and shipped with love from our home in Los Angeles. How about a t-shirt and cassette bundle for only $20? Or a yellow New Release vinyl and a tee for $30?
